Groundbreaking Ceremony for NeuWerk – Building Our Future in Flamatt
A location with a history—and a future
It was a special moment for us: About 40 years ago, it was Verena Leser—now a co-owner—who, in her operational role at the time, played a key role in the decision to relocate our headquarters from Bern to Flamatt. What began in 1987 with the move into our current facility and continued with expansions in 2007–2009 and 2015 is now taking its next major step forward with the NeuWerk.
Three Speeches to Kick Things Off
The ceremony featured three speeches: Verena Leser, co-owner, highlighted the site’s development and the journey that has brought the company to this point. Christoph Zahnd, member of the board of directors and project sponsor, provided strategic context for the initiative. And Michael Clausen, project manager at NeuWerk, offered insights into the upcoming construction phase and the path leading up to the move-in.
Celebrating Together – Despite the Rain
Despite the rainy weather, we were able to celebrate this special occasion together with employees, partners, and guests. The speeches and the subsequent conversation over lunch provided an opportunity to toast our achievements and look ahead to the next steps.
Commitment to growth and innovation
In his speech, Christoph Zahnd made it clear that the NeuWerk is no accident:"It began with a clear focus on the corporate strategy, which is centered on sustainable growth." With the new building, Zahnd continued, André Ramseyer AG is committing "to the Fribourg/Flamatt location, to growth, innovation, and future viability."
The new facility will sustainably optimize our processes in the workshop, logistics, and office, increase efficiency, and create modern working conditions. Particularly noteworthy is the scalability of the new building—both vertically and horizontally. This will lay the foundation for us to respond flexibly to market developments and manage our growth in a targeted manner. As Christoph Zahnd put it succinctly:"The NeuWerk is not just a building, but an investment in our future viability and innovative strength."
An Ambitious Timeline Through the End of 2027
We have a lot of work ahead of us before the planned move-in at the end of 2027. Once the new facility is operational, the existing building will be demolished—an important step, in the words of Christoph Zahnd, "to make room for the future and progress."
Thanks to all involved
A project of this magnitude relies on many people. On this day, we extended our heartfelt thanks to our owners, without whose foresight and commitment the groundbreaking would not have been possible. "It is not concrete, but your foresight and commitment that form the foundation upon which we are building today," emphasized Christoph Zahnd in his speech. We would also like to thank the cantonal and municipal authorities for their constructive cooperation during the building permit process, the dedicated project team for their professionalism and commitment—as well as the entire Ramseyer team for their openness to questioning the status quo and helping to shape new approaches in the interests of efficiency, standardization, and consistent quality for our customers.
Our Values as Our Compass
At the conclusion of his speech, Christoph Zahnd recalled the values that guide us: "passion, knowledge, safety. They are the compass that guides us—in our daily work as well as in this important project." Passion drives us, knowledge ensures quality, and safety builds trust and freedom of action.
We look forward to the coming months, to collaborating with everyone involved, and to moving into our new facility together at the end of 2027.
